Eva Daum's parents came specially from Belgium for the ceremony

It has become routine for soldiers in the Hadas Women’s Hesder Program, which combines Torah studies with service in the Israeli Defense Forces, to collect the army's coveted excellence awards, and recent ceremonies were no exception. On Yom Ha’atzmaut, “Outstanding Soldier” awards were bestowed by the Intelligence Corps on Neveh Channah High School graduate Miriam Adams, Roni Verman, and ‘lone soldiers’ Hadas Shambandel of Germany and Eva Daum of Belgium.

Meanwhile, Kinneret Kum was one of only 50 IDF officers to be honored with the prestigious Chief of General Staff Award in May. “Our soldiers consistently distinguish themselves,” reports Rabbi Ohad Tehar-Lev, the program's director. “They exude maturity and idealism and serve as true role models for everyone around them.”
