Q & A with Rabbi Riskin
This week's question examines the issue of 'muktza' and marketing campaigns. |
 |
| Today's business world is becoming more and more complicated. Have you
ever
been asked to work on something you aren't sure is ethical? Have you ever
wondered whether downloading MP3 files is considered stealing? Felt guilty
about using a sick day for personal errands, or making personal phone calls
from work? Rabbi Dr. Asher Meir, who has both studied and taught at
the Straus Rabbinical Seminary's David Falk Kollel, answers your
questions relating to business ethics, online. |

Parshat Lech Lecha
This week's portion begins the history of the Jewish people by
highlighting the life of the first Jew, Abraham. It opens with the
Divine command that he "make Aliyah" to the land of Israel, describes in
detail his religious discovery and his mission to teach ethical
monotheism to the world, and we are told of his exploits as a great
military hero. Indeed, we read of four kings who had placed a
stranglehold on the other five nations of Canaan, and Abraham's success
in freeing the region from terrorist invasions (Chapter 14).
